This really is an excellent list. Lots of diversity for what would seem like such a repetitive topic.
I disagree. I played OoT years after the fact and found it had aged rather poorly. TP seemed better in almost every way. Though it's a tough one between that and Okami. They each have different strengths and complement each other well.
I thought it got less old than Zelda as the plot, environments, and enemies stayed fresh throughout. The combat was way more in-depth too (though needlessly so. It didn't really help or hurt anything, but was a lot of fun and most of it was entirely optional, which I liked). The only thing I think Zelda did better was its puzzles, which was always the highlight of that particular series. But in terms of graphics, controls, writing, and characters, I found Okami to be the clear winner.
I really liked the track from InFamous they play when you first wake up in the ruins at the start of the game. My favorite "scene" in a game so far this year.
I'll wait for the full season. Though it's always bugged me that XBLA and Wii ports of Telltale games have always had rubbish frame rates.
Looks amazing. shame that the story looks a bit plain, especially given the Orson Scott Card universe it has to work with, but ah well. Still looks like a blast.
I gave up long ago on putting much stake in a corporations identity. If they make good games, I'll buy them. If not, I won't. PR is just PR- take it with a grain of salt and let the final products do the talking.
I'd want a new Maniac Mansion, but not a remake. Don't mess with perfection.
A great article on a system I literally knew nothing about. Me wants to play Rondo of Blood.
Advertising works well in a game that has a real world setting as it helps establish the mood. Other times it feels out of place. I honestly hardly even notice it. Like in MGS4.
I'm with Viewtiful on this one. It looked like a sub-par shooter wannabe. Much as Project Anchorage was a sub-par COD, this looks like a sub-par Dead Space. Though the humor looks more along the lines of Portal and has me semi-intrigued. Don't think I'd pay $10 for it, but I'd check it out if a GOTY edition comes out with all the add-ons.
Sounds moderately fun, but forgettable. Just like the movie.
If you liked Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, then you should play Punch-Out!!
What I played of The Path was great, but it ran like a snail on my computer. Way too choppy to really be considered playable. But if you have the patience for games like Silent Hill or Killer 7, I think you'd like it.
Terrific article! So many people go on about how the Wii is making games more accessible when really it's doing the opposite for so many people. Now, if only they could make games for the blind where you control them with your brain, bypassing the eyes entirely. Now THAT would be cool.
Gotta love the title though.
Games are like comics in their rep. but they're slowly but surely catching up. Enough of the when will we get gaming's Citezen Kane. A more apt comparison would be when will we get gaming's The Watchmen?
Epic Mickey sounds kind of awesome. Like a steampunk Kingdom Hearts. I am so down.
I agree with that sentiment. Snooze.
Cool. Though I'd have no idea where to actually get the game.
